This was a very enjoyable graphic adaptation of the first book in the popular children's series The Magic Tree House。 I thought the graphics were bright and colorful and did a great job of enhancing the story。 I really enjoyed it and I think kids will too! I hope they continue to make this series into graphic novels。 This was a very enjoyable graphic adaptation of the first book in the popular children's series The Magic Tree House。 I thought the graphics were bright and colorful and did a great job of enhancing the story。 I really enjoyed it and I think kids will too! My 6yo picked this up and flew through it in just a few sittings。 It was her first graphic novel & chapter book read and she can't wait to continue them! I read the original chapter book to her last year so she was already familiar with the story but was so much more excited to see all of the dinosaurs and sound out all the onomatopoeia。 My 6yo picked this up and flew through it in just a few sittings。 It was her first graphic novel & chapter book read and she can't wait to continue them! I remember reading this series with my children so long ago。 It was really nice to read this graphic novel version of Dinosaurs Before Dark and watch the story come to life。 If my kids were still little, they would love it。 I highly recommend!

I only recently read the first book in this series, and I found it cute but just okay。 However, in graphic novel form this story is so much better! It might just be because I got to see dinosaurs, but whatever。

I've read and listened to most of the books in this series (as an adult) and was pleased to find this graphic novel adaptation。 It was quick reading with my 7yo son。 We both enjoyed it。 I've read and listened to most of the books in this series (as an adult) and was pleased to find this graphic novel adaptation。 It was quick reading with my 7yo son。 We both enjoyed it。 。。。more

I really like this series of books。 My two oldest (9, 6) are both into them。 We’ve read many of the chapter books and listened to several of them via the Libby app。 I was pleasantly surprised to find this book featured at our library and quickly snatched it up。 Of course the pictures (which are well done) take up much of the narrative, making this book a quick read, but the adventure and *magic* is still there。 I definitely recommend this series of books (whether graphic novel or chapter books) I really like this series of books。 My two oldest (9, 6) are both into them。 We’ve read many of the chapter books and listened to several of them via the Libby app。 I was pleasantly surprised to find this book featured at our library and quickly snatched it up。 Of course the pictures (which are well done) take up much of the narrative, making this book a quick read, but the adventure and *magic* is still there。 I definitely recommend this series of books (whether graphic novel or chapter books) as a good introduction to getting kids to read, and read about a wide variety of subjects。 Highly enjoyable, even as a parent reading to a child。 。。。more

So good! The color illustrations are more beautiful then I expected。 My nine year old graphic novel enthusiast loved it! So glad to see this series in graphic novel format。

Absolutely LOVE this! I adored the Magic Treehouse series growing up and this is the perfect graphic novel adaptation for it! The illustrations are beautiful and the colors are so vibrant! The story and text is still very educational。 It really sucks you in to the story。 I definitely will be buying these as they come out。

The Magic Tree House was my favorite series growing up, and this graphic novel adaptation is very well done。 The book sticks to the original story and the artwork is very detailed。

I’m indifferent on this one。 I love the original series and had a definite mind-movie going with each book。 This version takes away my vision。 Yet it’s colorful and easier to understand the characters’ thoughts and expressions。

I was so excited to see this on the shelf! So much nostalgia- I loved it!

Having not read the original series, I'm not sure how the adaptation holds up, but this graphic novel is remarkable fun in any case! The art is also superb! The classic children's series "The Magic Tree House" gets a graphic novel treatment。 The first book "Dinosaurs Before Dawn" has brother and sister Jack and Annie discovering a tree house in their neighborhood that is full of books and as Jack holds on to a book on dinosaurs he wishes he could back in time, which they end up doing and Annie befriends a pteranodon, whom she names Henry。 Henry eventually rescues Jack from a T-Rex so Jack and Annie can return safely home。 This graphic novel stays to The classic children's series "The Magic Tree House" gets a graphic novel treatment。 The first book "Dinosaurs Before Dawn" has brother and sister Jack and Annie discovering a tree house in their neighborhood that is full of books and as Jack holds on to a book on dinosaurs he wishes he could back in time, which they end up doing and Annie befriends a pteranodon, whom she names Henry。 Henry eventually rescues Jack from a T-Rex so Jack and Annie can return safely home。 This graphic novel stays to true to the original book published in 1992, but feels fresher with this vibrantly colored version by Kelly and Nicole Matthews。 Young, confident readers 6-8 years-old who may not want to read the chapter book may be more attracted to this version, or it may act as a spring board to the original series by readers who are new to this series。 。。。more

Beautiful artwork!

I really enjoyed this graphic novel adaptation of the first book in the Magic Tree House series。 I thought the artwork was beautiful and really told the story well。 I particularly liked how some of the panels overlapped and some of the characters broke out of their frames。 I could tell that the illustrators really enjoyed playing around with the way the story was presented through the panels。 I also thought the text that was included cut to the heart of the story and focused on the most importan I really enjoyed this graphic novel adaptation of the first book in the Magic Tree House series。 I thought the artwork was beautiful and really told the story well。 I particularly liked how some of the panels overlapped and some of the characters broke out of their frames。 I could tell that the illustrators really enjoyed playing around with the way the story was presented through the panels。 I also thought the text that was included cut to the heart of the story and focused on the most important parts。 The Magic Tree House series often serves as a bridge to chapter books for children as they become more independent readers and, I think the graphic novel adaptations of these books will serve an additional purpose。 For kids who might not feel quite as comfortable with the the amount of text on the page of the chapter books, the graphic novels can introduce them to the story in a more non-threatening way, thus potentially making them more willing to try the chapter books afterwards, since they will already have familiarity with the story。 I will definitely be purchasing this title, and any others that follow, for my library。 。。。more

A well-done graphic novel version of the "classic" first book of the Magic Tree House series。 (Yes, it is now a classic。 It came out in 1992 - almost 30 years ago。 While I'm not sure the writing is classic, the concept certainly is!) This will serve as a transition to the idea of chapter books, as well as an entree into the much loved series。 A well-done graphic novel version of the "classic" first book of the Magic Tree House series。 (Yes, it is now a classic。 It came out in 1992 - almost 30 years ago。 While I'm not sure the writing is classic, the concept certainly is!) I'm not crazy about Magic Tree House in general, but this is a solid, readable adaptation in graphic novel form。 It will grab kids into this series all over again。 I'm not crazy about Magic Tree House in general, but this is a solid, readable adaptation in graphic novel form。 It will grab kids into this series all over again。 。。。more

I'm guessing this was written for junior primary level。 I skimped through it after the first 20 pages。 These kids have obviously not seen the movie Jurassic Park。 The girl was quite annoying with no sense of self preservation。 The boy thought he could outrun a T-Rex。For 5-7 years old, this would probably be a 5 Stars book。 It has the Saturday morning Disney special feel。 I'm guessing this was written for junior primary level。 I skimped through it after the first 20 pages。 These kids have obviously not seen the movie Jurassic Park。 The girl was quite annoying with no sense of self preservation。 The boy thought he could outrun a T-Rex。For 5-7 years old, this would probably be a 5 Stars book。 It has the Saturday morning Disney special feel。 。。。more

I loved this graphic novel! I only wish that I had re-read the original so I could compare them! The story was concise and the illustrations were perfectly cartoony。 I could not get over the baby dinosaurs--TOO CUTE。 We will definitely be purchasing these for the library as they come out。 Highly recommend, regardless of if you've read the original series!
